It turned out it had not been cleaned sufficiently (or at all). After making a complaint about it, it got sorted: I got a refund and the ap\u0101to was cleaned during my second day.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah that was a bit of an unpleasant surprise. But the futon and shower were operational, so to speak and that&#8217;s ultimately all that mattered to me.
