One of them is the fact that the Windows Error Reporting application itself (Wermgr.exe)\u00a0keeps crashing. Most notably after extended idling, during which the screensaver (blank screen) is active. Upon resuming there will be dozens of dialogs reporting something along these lines:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The instruction at 0xf3f3be3e referenced memory at 0xa2dac660. The memory could not be read<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iplumbing.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/windows-7-wermgr-exe-application-error.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iplumbing.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/windows-7-wermgr-exe-application-error.jpg\" alt=\"Error Dialog for Wermgr.exe\" width=\"475\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So what to do? Simply disable the Error Reporting Service:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.<\/p>\n<p>Type\u00a0<strong>services.msc<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Press Enter.<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down to the\u00a0<strong>Windows Error Reporting service<\/strong>. Double-click it, Stop it and Disable it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That should help, although you won&#8217;t be able to submit error reports abouts crashed applications anymore. Well, that wasn&#8217;t working to begin with. As for the origins of this failure?
